Review: Bridesmaids

Like Mean Girls, it was pink and funny. But is either film feminist?

Discuss.

I am going to see it tonight so I shall reserve judgment for now, but my (male) colleague proclaimed it "worse than The Hangover". Why, I asked? "Y'know, 'cos it's girls." Sigh.

one of my nearest-and-dearest expressed a similar sentiment - how he didn't like the idea of women trying to do male humour. i asked him why he thought the humour was male, turns out he thinks we're classier than that.

he needs to spend more time in my company.

It was funny and I laughed out loud more than once. Bit hyped unfortunately.

I laughed a LOT and cried four times.

"I cried four times in a film that showed women pooing in the street," I said to my friend.

"I thought it was about a wedding?" said my friend.

"Oh, that's only a tiny part of it," I explained.

the good ones always are, VoodooLady. did you see Cedar Rapids? wasn't much hype about it, but i think it's the best comedy i've seen since In The Loop.

what bits made you cry, Annie? i thought the bit where she ate the cupcake was pretty depressing.
